This is the most comprehensive, engaing post yet on custom luxury homes in Charlotte NC.
A Custom Luxury Home in Charlotte- Traditional, Arts and Crafts Low Country
Luxury home means a lot of things to different people: It has presence and curb appeal, it has a design, floorplan and details that work together in harmony, and well thought-out custom details and features that last, and create a Wow factor (s) along the way… and that’s just the house!
The luxury neighborhood-community in Charlotte is not typically gated, though some are, but the real question is still-
does it fit your family’s needs and lifestyle?
Fortunately we have lots of good choices. Yes, we have some “McMansions” (no I’m not offended by the name haha) in the outlying areas built in the easy money days, but Charlotte is home to many communities that rival the best in the US. Lets Look.

Home Buyer Tax Credit Extended-And Improved!
November 7th, 2009 Categories: Buy A Charlotte Home, Charlotte First Time Home Buyers
First Home Buyer Tax Credit Extended, Move Up Buyers Get New Tax Credit
It is official. President Obama signed the bill Friday. The bill
extends the existing first home buyer credit through April 30-and
creates a new credit, I call it the “Move Up” home buyer tax credit of
$6500 credit for qualifying “move up” buyers, and it increases the
income limits to qualify… welcome changes and a shot in the arm for
home Buyers and Sellers.
The bill extends the current $8,000 first time homebuyer tax credit (which was due to expire at the end of November) through April, 2010-however this is a “contracted by” date and you must close by July 1, 2010.
It also includes a tax credit of up to $6,500 for qualified move up
buyers- you must have used the home as your primary residence for 5 of
the last 8 years- and increases the borrower income limits for both
credits to $125,000 for individuals and $225,000 for couples.
Home buyers will qualify for the full credit as long as they have entered a binding contract,.... full story at Charlotte Homes for Sale:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Terry McDonald

Charlotte NC|The Affordable City
Charlotte The Affordable City- Cost Of Living Comparisons
Charlotte remains a popular move to city- a growing economy is
producing more jobs, physicians love it here, retirees and the over 55
set are a growing factors, as are young people moving into Uptown
condos... and they all are asking themselves the same question-- "if I
make X, how far would my dollar go in Charlotte? What increase in my
families standard of living could I expect?"
I found this great calculator comes from Bankrate.com, their link is
below...
So you are making $250,000 in the New
York City area, your job is portable, or you are retiring, and you are
thinking of moving to Charlotte NC...
How much more disposable income? How much better lifestyle would you have in Charlotte?
You can figure it several ways,
but this shows if you bring your $250,000 income to the Queen City,
you'll more than double your standard of living...this explains the
exodus of Doctors from the the northeast. Similar wages, lower
malpractice costs, and a better climate...plus a doubling of disposable
income are moving Doctor's south...
Now suppose you live in City X, and are considering a new job here.
You presently earn 150K, what would your standard of living be like if
you earned the same amount, but lived in Charlotte? In others words,
based on the costs and expenses of living in Charlotte, how much
further, or shorter would your household income go? Let's take a look.
Moving From City X to Charlotte and earning $120,000 per year...
